KOTAGIRI is a wonderful hill station in the Nilgris district of Tamilnadu. You may be aware the Nilgris district is called “ Queen of Hill stations”. This small town is situated at an altitude of around 6000 Feet ( 1793 Meters ) above MSL. From Mettupalayam, being the foot of the hill, Kotagiri is around 30 Kilo meters on a hilly terrain. It is one of the four taluk head quarters of the Nilgiri district. The primary economic activity of Kotagiri is TEA cultivation and other agricultural cash crops are also available. High grown tea of Kotagiri is famous for the Tea manufacturing factories. Apart from tea estates coupled with Tea factories, there are many Bought Leaf factories which produce Tea. Horticulture and Floriculture activities are on the way.
